Journey to My Destiny

Hebrews 12

It’s been 24 weeks since my commissioning. What a journey it has been!  My destination is definite. Eternity, the best version of it, is mine and no one, nothing can take that away from me. How sure am I? The Bible tells me so, Romans 8:38-39.

Meanwhile, I have been entrusted to pursue certain stations. It’s part of my earthly journey. By God’s grace, He will get me to the next station in His perfect time. I prefer to get there quickly.  Yet to God, quickly may mean 8, 12, 18 months! I must abide in Him throughout the time.  I must be sensitive to what He wants to see accomplished as I go from where I am now to that next station. I don’t want numbers or statistics, my crazy schedule, or the endless chores at home to steal the joy of following the path He has already paved for me. Right now, my finite mind’s understanding of that next station is reporting to my mission assignment with Cru and GAiN.

I am grateful for my husband, Ronnie; our children, Journey, Harvest and River; and all those people praying for us and supporting us financially, partnering with us in ministry. We all hope that in that next station, our opportunity to spread the love of Christ in word and deed among the unreached will be plentiful and fruitful, resulting to many souls reached by the Gospel, to the glory of our God!

My family is who I consider the front-row people watching how I run the race or walk the journey. Oh, that I would humbly model to my children, not perfection but obedience, how to walk the Walk and talk the Talk. That come the time they are able to make decisions for themselves, they will choose to follow Christ and serve Him only.

Our pursuit of the next station just happens to provide us a point of reference to where we must ultimately realize Someone, greater than us, in Whom we must faithfully abide, is in-charge of our journey. For truly, He is our Destiny.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
